Head pulley, rubber winding / belt conveyor -13

Since conveyor moves its belt forward by turning roller (head pulley, roller) mounted at the front edge, rubber is often wound around the pulley. The rubber prevents troubles caused by the belt which stop moving forward with slipping and spinning pulley. This occurs especially when whole length of belt conveyor is long, object need to be conveyed on slope, etc.
To wind rubber is normally called rubber lining and there are mainly 3 kinds of rubbers to be wound around head pulley (roller)

1)Double helical
Ditches on the rubber is at an acute angle towards moving direction. This shape of ditches prevents conveyor belt from slipping the most. However, this type of rubber can be used only for belt conveyor whose rotation direction is one way and cannot be used when rotation direction is reversed, in other word, it cannot be used in the conveyor belt which moves its belt both forward and reverse directions.

2)Transverse
Ditches on wound rubber is only transverse direction towards the moving direction. This is often used for belt conveyors whose machine length is long, width is wide, and conveying path has no slope. It is not affected by rotating direction of head pulley (roller). This can be used in belt conveyor which has both forward and reverse rotating direction.

3)Flat rubber
Flat rubber with no ditch is wound. This is often used in slope transportation with resin belt conveyor, etc. The material of flat rubber used in resin belt conveyor normally differ from ones used in the other two types above.  It is not affected by rotating direction of head pulley (roller). This can be used in belt conveyor which has both forward and reverse rotating direction.
